Helicopter pilot Manley Fredlund writes, “Imagine driving down the road and not being able to pass a helicopter…Imagine how I felt as a rookie headed home, to be stopped because of bad weather, turn around and be face to face with an unending line of impatient truckers, fading into the fog.”

Fredlund also writes, “Gone are the days of landing on a cliff because the helicopter didn’t have enough power to lift the skids of the ground, so the helicopter was revved up, dragged to the edge, tipped off….”

Skydancing is the story of one man’s odyssey through (and with) an industry, through time, and through an understanding of the almost magical abilities that allow man to explore, endure, adventure and conquer. This book is a celebration of the human spirit.

    About the author:

Manley Fredlund has been mountain pilot, check pilot and chief pilot for some of the world's most respected helicopter companies. He has flown specialty work in Banff and Jasper National Parks, for the Federal Wildlife Conservation Authority, many wildlife organizations and the Geological Survey of Canada. In this autobiographical book, Manley matures from rough-edged rookie in Canada's frozen North to the leading edge, ahead of the world in helicopter touring of the globe's highest mountains.
