Veteran pilot Gordon Jones of High River first flew a Tiger Moth aircraft when he learned to fly as an 18 year old in 1941 at an RCAF base at High River and holds the record of flying a Tiger Moth for over seventy years.

As his biography was released, this remarkable pilot owned and continued to fly Tiger Moth #1214, one of the aircraft in which Jones taught students at #5 Elementary Flying Training School (High River) during the Second World War. His flying career is unique in the history of Canadian aviation - but there is much more than flying to Jones’s story...

From his proud Welsh roots in Bangor, Saskatchewan through his pilot training across Canada, follow him to his return to farming then back up into the skies after his retirement. 

Jones owned and flew his beloved 1214 well into his 80s and made many contributions to Alberta and Canadian aviation.
